ಸರಳ ದಾಸವಾಳದ ಬೇಲಿಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಅಡಗಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಜರ ಕೃಷಿ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಅಪಾರ. ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೇರಳದ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಭಾಗದ ಅಡಿಕೆ ತೋಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ರೈತರು ತಮ್ಮ ತೋಟದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ದಾಸವಾಳದ ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಲಿಯಂತೆ ಬೆಳೆಸಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದೆ. ಆಗ ಅದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಯೋಚಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ದನ,ಕರು, ಆಡುಗಳು ತೋಟದೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸದಂತೆ ತಡೆಯಲು ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಜೀವಂತ ಬೇಲಿ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಯೋಚಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಈ ಸರಳ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹಲವು ಉಪಯೋಗಗಳು…
